THE SAINT GERVAIS MONT BLANC THERMAL SPA

Our Commitments

Quality and Environment

Protected from any external infiltration, Saint-Gervais thermal water is captured 600m above sea level, maintaining the richess of all its exceptional properties.

To preserve its natural qualities, its appropriation and use in the Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc thermal spa are subject to extensive controls.

AN AQUACERT-CERTIFIED ESTABLISHMENT

Testing is carried out repetitively to evaluate the quality of the thermal water

Since 2013, Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais has been committed to a process of certification, excellence, transparency and quality of the Mont Blanc thermal water.

The Aquacert certification process aims to control and validate the use of thermal water so that it offers a level of safety and optimal use.  Aquacert is an internationally recognised certification, developed and issued by independent organisations and scientists.

Les Thermes has implemented all the control processes from the source, including the thermal facilities. The control laboratory built into the thermal baths monitors the quality and stability of the water, as well as the bacteriological cleanliness of the establishment. The laboratory thus undertakes a number of measures to ensure safe and healthy water all year long:

  • Water control right from the source
  • Water control within the different departments
  • Systematic disinfection of thermal water distribution networks thanks to state-of-the-art technological innovation derived from the food industry and carried out by Tetra Pak.
  • Bacteriological testing of flooring and surfaces.

An accredited laboratory conducts a yearly analysis to verify the compliance and monitor water quality.

The purity of the thermal water is a major element that influences the effectiveness of the spa treatments. At Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais, our teams have set up processes to ensure that the thermal water is free from any contamination, is untreated (in the medical area) and is quality controlled at each stage of the water’s use.

This year Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais has once again been certified by the Aquacert label with an exceptional score of 97%. This shows that since Les Thermes started this project, the teams have successfully guaranteed optimal quality by improving the control processes used to test Mont Blanc thermal water.

A MODERN AND SUSTAINABLE THERMAL CENTRE

Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais has spent several years investing in a geothermal installation with centralised IT management.

The installation makes it possible to heat the entire building and sanitary water and to maintain the water temperature in the indoor and outdoor pools. The installation provides the spa guests with a constant and comfortable temperature and humidity level.

The costs for the geothermal installation and refurbishment of the air treatment system quickly paid for themselves. The installation allows for significant annual savings and prevents the release of approximately 200 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
